Over 182,000 industry professionals convened in Las Vegas this month for the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The Orion team was on the ground with our partner, Sequans, and showcased our full suite of products, demonstrating the latest in our Orion Connected Voice Platform and push-to-talk apps. Throughout the show, our team noticed three major trends:

Voice Technology Extends Its Influence Across Global Markets

At CES 2019, voice technology emerged as the next powerhouse for productivity. Major consumer electronics companies have integrated voice assistants into their products Voice technology was showcased at nearly all of the leading global consumer electronics companies. The potential for voice extends even further into the enterprise space, where we’re witnessing a widespread adoption of team communication and push-to-talk (PTT) devices across all industries. Voice is becoming ubiquitous, and soon, it will be ingrained in every interface that we interact with.

5G Offers A New Level of Wireless Connectivity

As wireless carriers and mobile operators prepare to unveil the fifth generation of wireless connectivity in 2019, traces of the 5G revolution were widespread at CES. While major players like have already announced their commitment to the 5G market, companies across the enterprise are using the technology to transform the functionality of their current products and services. With greater bandwidth and low latency, 5G promises to bring a new kind of connectivity among automated machines, software, and people.

Chatbots and AI Further Automate Business Processes

CES was a prime example of just how far the industry has come in the way of sophisticated AI and natural language bots to automate business processes. As advancements in machine learning and natural language processing continue, nearly any business process or workflow can become automated through a simple voice command, chatbot or another customized trigger.
